西藏刚坚发展总公司是在第十世班禅大师亲自倡导组织下，经国务院及西藏自治区人民政府批准，于1987年5月12日成立。总公司设在历届班禅大师驻锡地—扎什伦布寺内，隶属于扎什伦布寺民主管理委员会。总公司在中华人民共和国宪法确认的宗教政策和经济政策指导下，贯彻“以寺养寺”原则，减轻国家和人民负担，属首家寺庙所有的经济实体。
在第十世班禅大师的直接领导下，党中央、国务院、西藏自治区党委、政府和有关部门对公司给予了亲切的关怀和支持，经过20年的奋斗，使公司从小到大、由弱变强，各项业务得到全面发展。尤其是近几年在第十一世班禅大师的亲自领导下，公司经济效益得到明显提升，2006年总公司经营额达1.6亿元人民币，已给国家缴纳各种税3203万元。就业人数1300人，各项贫困捐款累计达1532.5万元，2005年、2006年被西藏自治区商务厅评为全区进口业绩第一名，公司知名度更加提高，现成为海内外较有实力和影响力的寺庙所属企业。它是西藏最早享有进出口经营权的三家公司之一。
西藏刚坚发展总公司为独立法人，现有员工近480人，注册资金超过3354万元。固定资产总额32694万元（不含房地产）。土地面积10万平方米，建筑面积31000多平方米，主要分布在西藏、青海、北京等地，具有广阔的发展前景。

A brief introduction of the Tibet Gang-gyan Development Corporation
The Tibet Gang-gyan Development Corporation, founded on May, 12. 1987, is a company organized by H.H. the 10th Panchen Lama personally and authorized by the State Council and the Tibet Municipality Government. The Headquarters is located at Tashilhunpo Monastery, the holy place resided by all H.H. the Panchen Lamas, under the supervision of the Democracy Administration Committee of Tashilhunpo Monastery. The company, guided by the religion and economy policies affirmed by the Charter of the Peoples’ Republic of China, operates on the principles of self-support of the monastery, so as to relief the economic burden of the people and the country, therefore, belongs to an economic enterprise owned by the monastery.
Under the direct leadership of H.H. the 10th Panchen Lama, together with the caring and supports from the Central Government, the State Council, the Tibet Municipality Government and relevant governments of all levels, the company has developed from a small one into a big one, from weak to strong after 20 years endeavor and has made great achievements in all aspects. In recent years, especially, under the leadership by H.H. The 11th Panchen Lama personally, the company’s economic output has been drastically raised. In 2006, the company’s general turnover has reached 160 million RMB yuan, all taxes paid is 32.03 million, and the total number of employees is 1300. The company’s donation of all kinds for the poor and needed has risen to 1.5325 million RMB yuan. Thus, the company has ranked first in the Import and Export business rating by the Business Department of Tibet Municipality Government in 2005 and 2006, and become a well-known monastery enterprise with fairly strong powers and influence domestically and internationally. It is one of the first three companies that have the power of management over import and export business in Tibet.
The Tibet Gang-gyan Development Corporation is an independent corporate body, with a registration fund of 33.54 million RMB yuan and of nearly 480 employees. Its total assets are 326.94 million RMB yuan (real estate not included). It covers an area of 100,000 square meters with a building area of 31,000 square meters, mainly spread out in Tibet, Qinghai, Beijing, etc. The prospect is great.
At present, the company has developed into an integrated economic body focusing in many aspects such as trade, tourism, restaurants and nationality handicrafts business. The company consists of the headquarter office, import and export department and finance department. The subordinate enterprises are : the Gang-gyan Lhasa Hotel ( 4 stars), the Gang-gyan Shigatse Hotel, the Gang-gyan Shangbala Hotel, the Gang-gyan Zhangmu Hotel, the Gang-gyan carpet mill, the Gang-gyan furniture factory, the Gang-gyan Tibet Thangkas workshop, the Gang-gyan Shigatse Juejie Company, the Gang-gyan Zhangmu limited company, the Gang-gyan Lhasa Banrao company, the Gang-gyan carrying trade, the branch offices in Beijing, Xining and Chengdu.
